Misiolek wins wire industry award

Wojtek Misiolek was one of two recipients of the annual Schneider Memorial Award presented in March by the Polish Chapter of Wire Association International (WAI).

Wojtek Misiolek accepts the Schneider Memorial Award.

The award is named in honor of Marian Schneider, 1899-1969, to recognize individuals who have made major contributions to the development of both Polish and global metal forming and wire drawing in particular.

Wire drawing is a metalworking process used to reduce the cross-section of a wire by “drawing” or pulling it through one or more tools known as “drawing dies.”

The Schneider Memorial Award is the Poland Chapter’s equivalent to WAI’s Mordica Memorial Award, which also honors individuals making significant contributions to the wire industry.

WAI is the largest wire organization in the world, with thousands of members from over 70 countries.

Wojtek Misiolek gives a presentation on his research to WAI members.
