were awarded a trip to Milan to learn more about Italy’s leading role in glassworking.
The Italian Glassworking Machinery Technology Award Program
, an initiative of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), was new for 2016. Junior, senior and postgraduate students involved in programs related to engineering and technologies applicable to the glassworking industry were invited to present papers. The award was limited to four students and a faculty professor.
The program is intended to provide academic growth as well as networking experience in international collaboration. The winners also took part in cultural and historic tours of Italian cities.
The Lehigh team and award winners in other ITA programs may be invited to take part in activities in the U.S. this year.
