Polymer Nanocomposites Topcon 2016

Polymer Nanocomposites Topcon 2016 was held on the Mountaintop campus from October 16-18. The conference included exhibits, vendor demonstrations, and student poster sessions.

Topcon 2016 is sponsored by the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) and hosted by Ray Pearson, Director of the Center for Polymer Science and Engineering.

“Polymer nanocomposites for 3D printing drew a lot of attention,” said Pearson. “The use of nanoparticles as both processing aids and property modifiers were explored in several presentations.”

The SPE sponsors over 40 Topcons, or topical conferences, each year. Topcons allow attendees to experience first-hand the latest innovations in plastics technology and network with their professional peers.
