Moyer named IMS Education Committee Chair

Laura Moyer, Manager of Metallography, Light Optical Microscopy, and X-ray Diffraction in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, has been named Education Committee Chair for the International Metallographic Society (IMS).

Moyer teaches Metallographic Techniques, an IMS course, as well as Steel Metallography at ASM International Headquarters. “There are many exciting developments in Education,” says Moyer. “As part of my teaching, I agreed to work with ASM Education to develop videos for best practices in laboratory safety, microscopes and software, cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching.”

Moyer received her B.S., M.S. and Ph.D from the Department of Materials Science & Engineering at Lehigh. Following an extensive career in industry, she joined the department in 2013.
